the week of easter

so this week is Easter right?
well yesterday, my sweet little neighbor passed away. she died in her sleep during the night. so sad for her family, but what a peaceful way to die. a couple of thousands of years ago, he died a brutal, tragic death for you and for me-- our sin... funny how we take that for granted. we continue to sin and to not do things that are pleasing to God. randy, our preacher, was talking about how when jesus was going into the city on what we know as palm sunday and he was weeping for the people and their mistaken him for a military leader. how many times has he wept because of me or you? and how many times has your heart been broken for the lost around you? we sing this song at portico and those are some powerful words! it is an emergency! take action people! you only get one chance to go to live forever in eternity with Jesus! i don't want you to miss this!

There are many prodigal sons
On our city streets they run
Searching for shelter
There are homes broken down
People's hopes have fallen to the ground
From failures

This is an emergency!

There are tears from the saints
For the lost and unsaved
We're crying for them come back home
We're crying for them come back home
And all your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home

There are schools full of hatred
Even churches have forsaken
Love and mercy
May we see this generation
In it's state of desperation
For Your glory

This is an emergency!

Sinner, reach out your hands!
Children in Christ you stand!
Sinner, reach out your hands!
Children in Christ you stand!

And all Your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home

so this week, celebrate the resurrection of our lord and savior, who was, who is and who is to come!!!!

long time, no blog

i am committing on this day to become a more frequent blogger. TODAY!

to liven things up a bit, i thought i could share some photos to help explain my point... so have you ever noticed how much clutter you have in your life? like me for example: i cannot get rid of a t-shirt. a t-shirt is like a picture, it has a memory associated with it. for real, how could i get rid of the louisiana lottery t-shirt i caught at the mardi gras parade in 7th grade- history!
or the Tequilla shirt i bought in mexico on my high school senior trip?
Any tie-dye fans out there? yep i tie-dyed that in Ms. Lockhart's chemistry class my junior year of high school-- pretty cute huh?
and who doesn't have a stand-by LSU t-shirt? if you don't, go to your nearest store to make that purchase!!
How about Plumbline Praise Band fans? i mean hello college! many memories there and many memories have been made wearing that shirt.
the Kansas Boys State T-shirt was my daddy's when he was in high school... absolutely not giving that one up! it is so groovy! Oh the stories that shirt could tell! HA!
I mean how can you pass up 3 for $5 for an "I heart NY" t-shirt? yep i have 2. i really do love nyc why not wear the t-shirt that states my feelings, that way, no one has to ask any questions to know whether i like it or not.
the yellow is dear to my heart! we had a memorial softball tournament in honor of a friend who passed away. i would never give it away. what would that shirt mean to someone who bought it? not a thing, but to me, i think about jessica every time i wear it.
the green, run for the health of it! HA! that was a t-shirt from my very first 5k to run! I was so stinkin proud. keeping that one too!
ok i obviously cannot seem to part with t-shirts, but as far as junk and unnecessary items that are never used, that sit around collecting dust- those are out! also i am taking a good look at my life. our life on earth is much too short to be bogged down with too many t-shirts (too much drama if you catch my drift). so that is being cut out as well. i am asking those tough questions like what clutter in my life is preventing me from serving God? Well it is leaving. if you are bringing drama, guess again... clutter/drama free over here!
love!

vent

so this is a vent blog moment for me....
life is swirling at the moment...
the house is in boxes.
i have no where to go. meaning no where to live and bring my belongings.
i'm about to be 25.
at age 25 dealing with STUPID (can you hear the amount of anger in my voice?!?) girl drama
my job can be intense.
my neck still freakin hurts (i have made a vow not to complain out loud about this unless severe pain, in that case i have told myself i must go home.)
will my neck ever get better?
can i sleep in and not be woken up?
did i mention i have no where to live?
ok so i am straight up overwhelmed. the tears are about to begin to create the river on my face!

i'm whiney with what i call good reason, you may not, but i am whiney nonetheless.

saturday morning!

i absolutely love saturday mornings!
you get to sleep in, most often get a fabulous breakfast, there isn't really a time schedule, quietness is lovely, really there is no other day like saturday.
Ok so this Saturday morning, i woke up and laid in bed for about 30 min, just laying there! then i got up and cooked an all-star breakfast only to be eaten by champions! Biscuits, sausage, bacon, and homeade gravy! yummy! Right now at 11.30 i am sitting here doing nothing, still in my pjs, with my hot pink converse on...
It's gonna be a great day!

Election Day

Voting is your right and your voice.
You are allowed to register at age 18 and most people do not. Remember we vote on thing more than the President, things that affect your everyday life. Voting is a major responsibility and should be taken seriously. I hope and pray that all of this election buzz is not just a trend and people will continue to vote each and every opportunity you are given.

On a side note, holding grudges is not ok. it only weighs heavy on you, not the person you are holding the grudge against. LET IT GO!  God is in control. Pray for that person. That is a lesson I know I continue to learn very often.

Love

So here is the car accident update.. 34days later.... On steroids for 2 bulging discs in neck (that sounds so disgusting!) Car fixed, well kind of. Returning it with love and a smile to offer some helpful hints on how to improve the work that has already been done. PT tomorrow, we'll see how that goes. :)

On a side note, this has really hit my heart recently. See below.....

This is the greatest commandment of all--- LOVE!
Simple you say, well it is not. But it is the basis for all laws.
Love the Lord with ALL your heart and with ALL your soul and with ALL your mind. Second, love your neighbor as your self. ---- My paraphrasing of Matthew 22.34ish
Really there are no circumstances about when to love. Jesus does tell us how to love. With all your heart, all your soul and all your mind. No ifs, ands or buts!
Harder than we think but I will every day wake up and love, because HE first loved me!
