not for the weak stomached...

*** disclaimer: if you have a weak stomach i wouldn't read any further. sorry, but this is life.

so as most of you loyal readers know, i had a pretty doosie of a car accident in september 2008. Since the accident, I have had pain in my neck day in and day out, not much relief. Anyways, I have learned to deal with it hurting all the time. Recently my neurosurgeon recommended steroid injections or a cervical disc fusion. Surgery is pretty painful. I opted for the injections. I stupidly assumed that they would give me 2 shots- one in my neck and one in my muscle that has been spasmmed since the accident. Wrong! I received approximately 8-10 injections in my neck and muscle. It has been very sore! I think it will help. I go back this coming Monday and the next Monday. I found out today that I will receive the same amount of shots each time. Hope it helps!!!!

new projects...

so i have been trying to get involved in new projects.
project 1. Dave Ramsey Financial Peace. I will be learning to budget my money more wisely as well as save money.
project 2. in an effort to save money, i have joined a group at our church that will be cooking once a month for the entire month. This will save time and money.
project 3. my neck. i am determined to get this neck better. i have seen a specialist at la pain care about doing steroid injections in my neck. hope it helps!
project 4. i have been trying to be more creative. i have been attempting to paint and do little artsy projects like that.

there ya go. this is what my world has been made up of the past few weeks.

the birthday month.

ok so i love taking the time out to do things for myself because i rarely do something for me! For example, this week i did things just for me! so yesterday i went to a few stores and dinner with friends. low-key, but beautiful! today, i have don't nothing! life is really wonderful!
on another note, the doctor in shreveport gave me 2 options. both have their good parts and bad parts. keep praying.

got some goodies!

so my good friend patricia is moving. she was giving away some things. i inherited some flower pots-- beautiful ones! some fabulous curtains that my awesome brother-in-law hung for me tonight and a chair that matches my other chair, oh and some rugs. looks like a whole new place around here!

Hello 2010, nice to meet you!

2009 was a good year. Lots of happy memories.
Recap: Moved into my apartment over the bridge. Turned 25. Went to some cool events. Did some good helpful services to our community. Joined a bunco group. Spent time with wonderful friends and the best family. Sat on the beach and stared at the gorgeous ocean. Sat in a rocking chair and stared at the mountain bluffs from a porch of a beautiful cabin. Got to be a part of an amazing movement of God-- The Portico Church becoming an independent church. Hosted Thanksgiving. Celebrated Christmas!

What will 2010 hold? I am making some resolutions for myself that I WILL accomplish. I am starting the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University. I WILL save money, buy a car and maybe a house this year. I am seeing a Neurosurgeon to try to get a plan to get my neck well. I WILL run in 2010 without pain. I WILL keep my apartment clean. I WILL (try) to keep my car clean. I WILL do Bible Study/Devotions/Readings more and more consistently. I WILL have a splendid, wonderful, fantastic, exciting, happy year and no one, I mean NO ONE, will stop me! But as far as the unknown events of the year, I just don't know. I remember First West's former pastor choosing a "word of the year". I think my word this year is WILL. I have a strong-WILLed personality, this can be good or bad... There are things that I WILL do this year to make myself a better person and the world a better place. Watch and see this girl with her WILL... :) I am anxious to see what the new year holds for me, my family, my friends and my church. Exciting times on the horizon- I just know it!

Christmas 2009

Merry Christmas!
Christmas week started out with a work day. The DeltaStyle Girls celebrated hard work and Christmas with a dinner at Coda. Fun group!

Since Mom and Dad moved to Tennessee last year, we had Christmas at their new big house. Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Bruce got to Grandma's on Monday. John and I drove up on December 23rd. Uncle Lee came in on Christmas Eve. Emma and Dave came Christmas Eve after E got off work. And Ginny and Philip came on Christmas Day.
We had a feast the entire week. Aunt Jeanne, Uncle Bruce and Grandma cooked Christmas Eve. They made wonderful cheese, Texas Tamales, meatballs, and so much more. Everything was so very tasty.

Everyone woke up on Christmas morning to the smell of Daddy's pannycakes and bacon. We started cooking for lunch/ dinner after that. Presents were opened and food was eaten.. I mean could you ask for a better day?! Here are a few pics from the day. Enjoy!

Emma and Dave's crazy dog was very sneaky... The goob got the turkey out of the trash can. His brother dog told on him. Funny mess!

little catch up on the end of 2009..

So, when i last left you, i had had a crazy-o busy week. It was a fun week! I love the glamorous life, but am definitely happy to have a slow week in my corner of the world.
